Welcome

Welcome to our Swim Team website. Our goal as coaches is to provide a safe, fun environment for all level of swimmers -- from young novice swimmers to National level swimmers. Each day at practice we strive to improve each swimmers fitness, strength, stroke technique and the skills they will need to compete successfully at swim meets. Attendance at swim meets is encouraged but not mandatory. Meets are the best way to test the swimmers on what they are learning each day at practice. Our focus at swim meets is on the improvement of each individual swimmer in technique, skills and speed. The Y league meet season runs from October to February, with Y Nationals in early April. Our team also is a member of USA Swimming. We compete at USA Swimming meets in the spring and summer.

Swimming is generally thought of as an individual sport. However, the Team environment, conceived by the coaches with help from the parents and swimmers, is crucial to the development of individuals.
TEAM means:
Together
Everyone
Achieves
More.
Working together each day at practice, pushing each other to improve, our swimmers can achieve great things individually, and our team will be more successful. Our expectations for our team this year are high. Not only in meet results but also in how the swimmers conduct themselves on the pool deck at practices and at meets. Good sportsmanship is the most important thing we can teach our swimmers. We would like to see them respect their parents, coaches, officials, teammates, and their competitors at the pool at all times. We would like to see the swimmers take responsibility for their swimming by being honest about their goals, and then following through by committing to an appropriate training program to meet those goals.

Team goals:
  • Win the Y League Team Championship this year.
  • Have one or more swimmers qualify for the Y National meet.
  • Improve on our 35th place team finish at Summer Junior Olympics
